Decisions on project funding on 20 November and 11 December 2009.
The sub-committee of the Academy of Finland’s Computational Science Research Programme decided at its meetings on 20 November and 11 December 2009 to fund a total of 25 projects comprised within the research plans of seven consortia. The total funding for this comes to 8.56 million euros. In addition, the sub-committee decided on the funding to be allocated to ERASYSBIO projects, specifically six Finnish parties within three consortia to a total sum of 500,000 euros.

The name of the call is 2009 Computational Science research programme. The panel statements are available in the Academy’s online services. Where consortia are concerned, panel statements can only be accessed through the consortium leader’s account.
A total of 53 applications with research plans were submitted to the second stage of the call for applications of the Computational Science Research Programme by the deadline on 15 May 2009. The applications involved a total of 162 research teams. The sum applied for came to 54.6 million euros in total. Applications to the programme were reviewed by an international panel, which rated the general standard of applications as excellent.
The programme’s first call for applications opened in January 2009. There are plans for a second call in 2011. Information on special focus areas and potential international funding partners for the second call will be published on this website. Please note that the planned timetable of the second call has been put forward by one year from the date given previously.
