Molecular Epidemiology and Molecular Evolution (1997-1999)
Objectives
The aim of the Research Programme is to combine the work and expertise of high-standard research groups from different fields. This enables the creation of large top-level research networks and groups and lifts the level of national and competitive know-how in the fields of the Programme that develop rapidly. At the end of the Programme, international experts will evaluate the results and the influence of the Programme in the development of the field in Finland.
Themes
The Research Programme hosts both basic and applied research. The thematic fields include Genome Research, Population Genetics and Environmental Molecular Genetics.
Funding
The Academy of Finland allocated FIM 10 million (EUR 1,7 million) to the programme.
