NORIA-NETs
The NORIA-net funding scheme was launched in 2007 by NordForsk with a view to accelerating cooperation between the Nordic bodies funding basic research. NORIA-net projects are aimed at networking research funding agencies, carrying out joint surveys and developing new processes and methods in fields where research funding administrations are expected to highly benefit from collaboration.
The Academy of Finland has participated in eight NORIA-net projects, four of which it has coordinated. The Academy was the coordinator for the project Nordic-Asian Research Funding Cooperation (launched in 2008), which reviewed the need for joint funding schemes in Nordic and Asian research funding agencies. The Academy was also the coordinator for the project Development of Peer Review in the Nordic Context (launched in 2008). Likewise, the Academy is the coordinator for the projects NORIA-net on Health and Welfare (launched in 2010) and Nordic Evaluation of Sports Sciences (launched in 2010).
In addition, the Academy participates in the projects The Use of Bibliometrics in Research Policy and Evaluation Activities, The Nordic eScience Initiative, The Nordic Research Infrastructure Network (NRIN), and The Nordic Network for International Research Policy Analysis (NIRPA).
