OECD
One of the main tasks of the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD) is to promote sustainable economic growth, employment and social well-being. OECD is an international expert organisation whose activities support economic and social policy-making in its member countries.
The Academy of Finland is Finland’s national representative in the OECD’s Global Science Forum, a forum set up to identify and maximise opportunities for international collaboration in scientific research. The GSF also produces findings and recommendations for action at member country level. The forum explores new areas of research collaboration and charts the need and preconditions for – as well as implementation of – projects that require large-scale investment. Director Arja Kallio from the Academy of Finland serves as Vice Chair of the Global Science Forum.
