Finnish CoE in Translational Genome-Scale Biology

The Centre of Excellence in Translational Genome-Scale Biology has set itself the goal of studying the impacts of human genes on cell growth and premature ageing. The CoE will be using the results of these studies to identify cancer genes and to translate genome-scale discoveries towards diagnostics and therapeutics. In addition, researchers at the CoE will be working to develop new technologies for cell-based functional screening. The Centre of Excellence in Translational Genome-Scale Biology is a multidisciplinary unit composed of six research teams working in the fields of bioscience, medicine and engineering. It involves researchers from VTT Finland and the universities of Helsinki and Turku.
