Centres of Excellence – Spearheading science

Centres of Excellence in Research (CoEs) are at the cutting edge of research in their respective fields. Through Finnish CoE programmes, the Academy of Finland provides substantial and visible direction to Finnish science.

The Board of the Academy of Finland has on 6 June 2011 selected new Centres of Excellence for the period 2012‒2017. The new CoE programme includes a total of 15 units, involving research teams from eleven universities or research institutes. Read more in the press release.
