Researcher mobility
The Academy of Finland supports the international networking and interaction among researchers as well as their personal mobility at different stages of the research career. The Academy is a major source of funding for the international activity of Finnish researchers.
The Academy is committed to maintaining the highest possible standards of researcher training and the highest possible quality of research environments in Finland. We provide doctoral students with opportunities for international interaction by supporting research visits as well as work by foreign researchers and doctoral students in Finnish research teams. Furthermore, there are various funding instruments designed to support the mobility of postdoctoral and senior researchers.
Researcher mobility is supported in the form of grants for mobility based on bilateral agreements and grants for visits by leading international researchers to Finland. In addition, the Academy supports researcher mobility through project funding as well as through projects involved in Academy-funded research programmes and through Centres of Excellence.
Other sources of funding for researcher training, for work abroad and for visits by foreign researchers to Finland include the EU Framework Programme and Nordforsk. The European Researcher’s Mobility Portal EURAXESS is another importance source of career opportunities.
