The Academy’s aim is to enhance the appeal and attraction of careers in research, to increase postdoctoral research opportunities and to promote women’s research careers. The Academy has consistently developed its funding instruments with a view to meeting these requirements. Research career strategy
- The Academy of Finland is committed to creating better opportunities for pursuing a career in research and for high-quality researcher training. These goals are incorporated in the Academy’s newly adopted strategy.
- The Academy promotes the mobility of researchers and knowledge, works to develop researcher training and opens up new career opportunities for researchers.
- The Academy promotes the continuity of the research career at all its stages. It is particularly committed to supporting the independence of junior researchers by increasing the number of posts for Academy Research Fellows and by developing funding.
- The Academy encourages and creates incentives for researcher mobility both internationally and within the national research system, in business and industry and public administration.
