a) DEUTSCHER AKADEMISCHER AUSTAUSCH DIENST (DAAD)

  • Research grants for travel and living costs incurred from project cooperation between Finnish and German researchers. Funding can be applied for for two years, i.e. 2013–2014. 
  • The applicant is the research team leader. The Finnish and German research teams prepare a joint research plan. Within the programme, funding is not granted for research costs or seminars. 
  • It is recommended that the same number of researchers from institutions of both countries participate in the project. The duration of visits may be one week or a few months at a time.
  • The Academy and DAAD cover the travel and living costs of the participating researchers of their own country in accordance with their own funding conditions. In addition to travel costs, the Academy covers the living costs as grants according to this table
  • When drafting an online application please note that:
    - the leader of the research team is the applicant
    - the applicant shall append the CVs and lists of publications of the project participants
    - the applicant shall append a joint Finnish-German research plan that indicates the schedules of the visits as well as the name, institution and contact information of the German applicant 
  • In the evaluation of the application focus is placed on:
    - scientific quality of the research team and the project
    - researcher training within a good-standard research team
    - significance of the cooperation
    - feasibility of the cooperation 
  • The decisions will be made in January 2013. The funding period is two years from the decision date.
