China and Taiwan
The Academy of Finland has agreements on cooperation with three Chinese research funding organisations. The cooperation with the Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS) and the National Natural Science Foundation of China (NSFC) covers all scientific disciplines, except for those that belong to the domain of the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences (CASS). The Academy's collaboration with CASS covers the humanities, culture, law, social sciences and economics.
The Academy also has an agreement on cooperation with the National Science Council of Taiwan (NSC). The collaboration specifically targets the following fields: low temperature physics, functional brain imaging, communication engineering, naval architecture, biochemistry, biomedical science, biopharmaceutical science, epidemiology, intellectual property rights and genome biotechnology ethics.
Besides researcher mobility and seminars, the funding cooperation is aimed at supporting joint projects.
