Food biotechnology (Academy of Finland and Indian DBT)

The Academy of Finland and the Indian Department of Biotechnology (DBT) launched a joint call for proposals to promote Indo-Finnish cooperation in the field of food biotechnology.

The focus is on the development of biotechnical processes in foodstuff research, covering all issues where biotechnology is applied. The three-year projects can cover the following topics, for instance:

  • Nutrition, genetic factors and metabolism
  • Food, immunity, intestinal microbes and health
  • Food-related risks and food safety
  • Food processing and health
  • Food by-product valorisation.

The aim is to support long-term systematic research collaboration, researcher mobility and the creation and strengthening of research collaboration networks between Finland and India.
