- The Joint Baltic Sea Research and Development Programme BONUS has opened its 2012 call. Read more. The deadline is 14 February 2013.
- ERA-NET NEURON II will open a Joint Transnational Call on 10 January 2013 for “European Research Projects on Mental Disorders”. A preliminary call text is available online. The final call for applications will be available online at the start of the call. The call deadline is 11 March 2013.
- The ERA-NET project NORFACE (New Opportunities for Research Funding Agency Cooperation in Europe) launches a call for the research programme Welfare State Futures. The deadline is 16 April 2013. More information is available on the NORFACE website
- The Joint Committee for Nordic Research Councils for the Humanities and the Social Sciences (NOS-HS) will open a call for proposals for exploratory workshops in early 2013. The series of 2–3 workshops shall promote the development of new and innovative research areas and programmes. Applications shall include researchers from at least three different Nordic countries. The call text will be posted on www.nos-nop.org in February and the call deadline is 10 April 2013.
- ERAfrica call until 15th April 2013
- WoodWisdom-Net+ will open a call for joint project proposals in February. A preliminary call text is available online. The call deadline is 30 April 2013.

- The European Research Council (ERC) has two types of grants for top researchers: Starting Grants and Advanced Grants. Due dates and guidelines are available on the ERC website.
