The report Scientific Research in Finland. A Review of Its Quality and Impact in the Early 2000s  (PDF) discusses the development of Finnish science and research in the early years of the millennium. The review consists of a general section on science policy issues, a more in-depth discussion on special themes, and the reports by the Research Councils. The main themes are the scientific and societal impact of scientific research, and the human resources of research. In addition, a separate review is included of the impacts of research funding and science policy measures on the development of science and society at large. The results and impacts of Finnish research are compared internationally by means of various indicators.
