Decisions and impacts

The Academy’s funding decisions are posted in this section. Here, you will find information on the researchers and research projects we have funded and on the funding amounts.

The pages dealing with the use of funding provide guidelines for both Academy-funded researchers and sites of research. The key thing to remember is that the Academy’s research funding may only be used for the purpose for which it was granted.

Academy funding helps to expand existing knowledge and know-how and contributes to valuable scientific breakthroughs. The results of science and research benefit not only business and industry and society at large, but also every one of us. The impacts may often be seen only in the long term. You will find examples of the impact of Academy-funded research under Success stories.

We regularly evaluate our own operations and carry out reviews of the state and quality of scientific research in Finland. Besides conducting evaluations, we also draft science-policy surveys and foresight the developments in individual scientific disciplines and fields of research.
