Biosciences and Environment Research Unit
The Unit is responsible for preparing, presenting, as well as executing and monitoring matters within the scope of the Research Council for Biosciences and Environment. The scope of the Research Council covers both the Finnish environment and the most important natural resources in Finland. The Unit works to promote the high standard, diversity and capability for renewal of Finnish bioscience and environmental research.
The Unit attends to a number of international tasks such as having experts in the Environment and Climate Change sub-programme and the People specific programme within the EU 7th Framework Programme. The Unit is also in charge of LESC contacts with the European Science Foundation (ESF).
