Units
The Academy's Administration Office is organised into units: the four units that correspond to the Research Councils, the Administration Unit, the Communications Unit, the Finance Unit, the Information Management Unit, Internal Auditing, the International Relations Unit, the Management Support Unit, and the Programme Unit.
The Administration Office is headed by the Academy President and two Vice Presidents. The Vice President for Administration, is responsible for the function and development of the Academy's administration. The Vice President for Research, is responsible for the Academy's science-policy planning and the development of research funding.
With a staff of some 150, the Administration Office sees to the Academy’s administration, does all the necessary groundwork for official decision-making by the Academy Board and Research Councils, and executes their decisions as well as prepares science-policy surveys and related plans, and takes part in the work of a number of national and international working groups.
