More funding within the September 2011 call

The Board of the Academy of Finland decided in August 2012 to allocate additional funding to the Research Councils. The Research Council for Biosciences and Environment decided in June and September 2012 to use this allocation to fund four Academy Projects and one Academy Research Fellow that all had been placed on the reserve list. At its October meeting, the Research Council also decided to grant funding for the Academy Research Fellow’s research costs.

Within the September 2011 call, the Research Council for Biosciences and Environment funded 34 Academy Projects and 36 applicants (four applicants were involved in two consortium projects). The success rate was 20 per cent and the funding granted to Academy Projects amounted to roughly EUR 21.2 million. The Research Council also granted funding to 15 new Academy Research Fellows. The success rate of applicants for research posts as Academy Research Fellow was 18.5 per cent.
