Research funding

All Academy research funding is awarded through open competition. We allocate the funding to the best researchers and the most promising young researchers for leading-edge scientific research. Academy funding is granted for a fixed term.

In 2012, we make funding decisions worth some 327 million euros. Annually, we receive around 3,400 applications for funding, amounting to some 1.5 billion euros. The success rate is less than 20 per cent.
